HARP originally stands for the Hirlam-Aladin R Package for verification (although R package is extensively used in the HARP, the tool package is not limited to the R language and utilities). The main goal of the HARP development is to provide the HIRLAM-ALADIN community with suitable tools for probabilistic and mesoscale forecast verification, the latter with focus on spatial aspects. Some experimental AROME configurations were daily run at 1.3 km and 2.5km. This experimentation has been stopped and will be replaced by runs of AROME High-Resolution with assimilation. On March 27, 2012 (5860 days since its first pre-operational run; 5100 days since its first operational run), ALADIN-France completed its last operational run. Since that day, the ALADIN reference version at Meteo-France is the ALADIN-Réunion model, one of the 4 Overseas ALADIN models operational at Météo-France.
