HYDRAulics LABoratories

Ce projet est une Initiative d’Infrastructures Intégrées (I3) regroupant en un consortium les installations hydrauliques les plus importantes en Europe. A travers cette participation du CNRM, c’est l’unicité de ses installations de simulation hydraulique au niveau européen qui a donc été reconnue, tant par leurs caractéristiques que par l’originalité et la qualité des techniques mises en œuvre et des travaux de recherche qui y ont été conduits.
Pour les accès transnationaux le partenaire CNRS était constitué de l’association de la veine hydraulique stratifiée du CNRM et de la plateforme Coriolis du LEGI, formant ainsi un ensemble unique au monde pour l’étude des écoulements stratifiés à très grand Reynolds. Hydralab IV a pris fin en 2014, mais l’exploitation scientifique des données récoltées s’est prolongé au-delà de cette date. Un projet Hydralab+ a été retenu dans le cadre H2020, sans le CNRM pour cause de fermeture définitive de la veine hydraulique.

 Objectifs

Organiser au niveau européen la recherche et l´ingénierie autour des installations hydrauliques les plus importantes et optimiser leur fonctionnement en réseau.

 Apports du CNRM

A travers Hydralab, le CNRM a proposé aux chercheurs européens un accès à ses installations hydrauliques, notamment sa grande veine hydraulique stratifiée. Trois accès ont été réalisé entre 2006 et 2010 pendant Hydralab-III et puis trois également entre 2010 et 2014 dans la cadre Hydralab-IV. Ces trois accès avaient été sélectionné parmi sept demandes portées par des scientifiques reconnus, témoignant de l’intérêt de la communauté scientifique internationale pour la veine hydraulique et de la reconnaissance du savoir-faire de son équipe. Les scientifiques ont trouvé au laboratoire de simulation physique du CNRM (GMEI/SPEA) le soutien scientifique et technique indispensable pour mettre en place ces projets de grande envergure. Une collaboration scientifique entre l’équipe et les chercheurs accueillis qui s’étend au delà de la période d’accès s’est très souvent mise en place.
