  The MoU4 defines the governance of the ALADIN Consortium for 5 years from December 15, 2010. It was signed on the 15th of December 2010 by the representatives of the 16 ALADIN Partners during the 15th General Assembly in Prague.   The 15th Regular General Assembly of ALADIN Partners took place in Prague, Czech Republic on 14-15 December 2010. During this General Assembly, the new ALADIN Memorandum of Understanding (MoU4) was signed by the representatives of the 16 ALADIN Partners. On December 14, during the official ALADIN GA dinner, we had two special events : the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the kick-off of the ALADIN project and the tribute to Jean-François Geleyn, retiring from ALADIN after 20 years (…)

The core idea is to move towards an e-zine format, allowing much more freedom about the content of individual articles (targeting either operations, or R&D activities, nationally or transversally to the Programme).   A second meeting of the Expert Team on surface processes took place during the last EMS conference in Zürich and was kindly hosted by Meteo Swiss, thanks to Jean-Marie Bettems. The first part was devoted to the description on the database of in-situ measurements for local validation of NWP land surface schemes.   The Met Office will host the 32nd European Working Group on Limited-Area Modelling (EWGLAM) and 17th Short Range NWP (SRNWP) meetings. The meetings will be organised according to the guidelines agreed at the 2009 meetings. The programme will review activities in the Consortia and Expert teams.
