The PASTEL team develops, maintains and operates Météo-France seasonal forecasting system. The seasonal forecast system at Météo-France has evolved by successive versions, named “systems” as they include modifications of several models as well as initial conditions. A new system is issued every 3-4 years. The current operational system is system 8. This forecast system is used in the european Copernicus C3SS-370 contract.

The PASTEL team also works on climate prediction from weeks to years.
