PRESENT POSITION

Météo-France, CNRM/GMME/MC2, Toulouse, France
Visiting Scientist/Poste Rouge, October 1997 - September 1998.
CNRS, October 1998 - March 1999
CIES, April 1999 - April 2000
CNRS, May 2000 - Present

Duties and Responsibilities:
He is currently supporting research for Météo-France at the Centre National de Recherche Météorologique (CNRM). He is supporting the development and testing of the soil-vegetation atmosphere transfer (SVAT) model Interactions between the Soil Biosphere Atmosphere (ISBA) with an emphasis on heat and water transfer at the surface and within the soil, snow and soil ice.

EDUCATION

Ph.D., Meteorology and Hydrology, Paul Sabatier University, 2000.
Disertation: Modélisation des processus hydrologiques dans le schéma de surface ISBA: Inclusion d'un réservoir hydrologique, du gel et modélisation de la neige (Modeling hydrological processes in the land-surface scheme ISBA: Inclusion of a hydrological reservoir, soil ice and a snow pack model). Three modifications and options were introduced into the ISBA scheme related to the model hydrology. Soil ice was implemented for cold-climate applications. The snow pack model was modified primarily for hydrological applications, but also as an option for atmospheric model applications.

M.S., Meteorology, Florida State University, 1992.
Thesis: Clear Air Radar Analysis of the Convective Planetary Boundary Layer. Analyzed single-Doppler radar clear air data in the pre-storm planetary boundary layer. Used the Velocity Azimuth Display (VAD) analysis technique to determine the kinematic properties of the pre-storm environment at the NASA-Kennedy Space Center, FL. Developed a non-linear least squares technique used to detect low level convergence zones within the Doppler wind field prior to thunderstorm development.

B.S., Meteorology, Northern Illinois University, 1988
