DEEP DIURNAL OVER LAND: IDEALIZED CASE






In the context of EUROCS, the ARM-GCSS WG4 Case3 subcaseA is interesting because it allows evaluating the models against observations for convective situations over land. Regarding the goal of EUROCS, we are concern with the diurnal cycle of convection. This is the reason why, from this dataset, we have built an idealized case  (basically this has been done with the 1st day of subcaseA). With this idealized case, we will address more directly the problems encountered with simulations of the diurnal cycle of convection over land.

From a practical point of view, it should be relatively easy to run this idealized case as the files formats to run the case have been made similar to the ones for the first intercomparison case.

For running this case you need:

1) to read the following readme.txt

The full list of diagnostics, similar to the initial list of diagnostics required.

2) to download  kit_ideal.tar, which contains files to run the case, including the above readme, plus some plots
