* GETTING TO THE CITY CENTRE FROM THE AIRPORT (MADRID- BARAJAS)

The Madrid-Barajas airport is linked to the city by the Underground train "Metro" departing from Terminal 2. Line 8 goes straight to the "Nuevos Ministerios" metro station in the centre of Madrid, with a journey time of just 12 minutes. Once in "Nuevos Ministerios" you may take a taxi or the Metro to your hotel. The cost is 0.95 ? one way.

You might consider buying a 10-trip ticket at 5 euros, valid for both Metro and city buses which can be shared with other people.

The centre is also linked to the airport by buses which run every 15 minutes from all the terminals to "Plaza Colon". The fare is 2,40 euros. A taxi service from the airport to the city centre may cost around 20 euros in normal traffic conditions. Be sure to use official cabs (white with a red strip); others may be expensive.

* GETTING TO THE INM FROM THE CITY CENTRE

The Instituto Nacional de Meteorología (INM) is located at " Leonardo Prieto Castro street" (former Camino de las Moreras ) in the university area not far from the centre of Madrid.

-The Underground ("Metro") is the easiest way to get there. Take Line 6 to stations "Ciudad Universitaria" or " Metropolitano" both at a 10 minutes walk to INM (see the map of the  INM area).

-Buses 82 and 132 also have stops in the nearby of the INM and can be boarded in the area of Moncloa.

-A taxi run from the centre to the INM is not expensive (about 7 euros). Not every taxi driver is aware of the INM location so do not forget to take the address or a map with you.

* GETTING TO THE INM FROM THE METRO

As you come out from the "Ciudad Universitaria" Metro station follow "Avenida Complutense" towards the North. The Botanical Garden will be on your right. When you get to the roundabout follow the road that goes straight ( though it bears right a bit ) until you see a sign indicating INM. At that point turn right ( Physics School will be on your left) until you get to a small passage. Pass through and follow the road that goes straight. You'll see INM on your left.
