ALMIP-MEM

ALMIP simulations coupled to the Community Microwave Emission Model (CMEM)

Objectives:

Simulate C-Band Brightness Temperature, TB, as seen by AMSR

  • Range of TB simulated by 12 LSMs
  • Validation of surface soil moisture and simulated by LSMs
  • Scatter C-band TB simulated by LSMs at a Regional scale
  • Repeat simulations at L-band (preparation SMOS)
  • Estimate additional information on Soil Moisture expected to be provided by SMOS compared to AMSR
  • Possible use of more than one TB model
